Flora students earned eight silver and 10 bronze awards, with student Juanita Galvis, earning double honors with awards in French and Spanish.
Seventeen A.C. Flora High School students earned the South Carolina Seal of Biliteracy, an award that recognizes students who have attained a certain level of proficiency in English and at least one additional world language by graduation.
To earn the Seal of Biliteracy, students must meet English proficiency requirements and they must take the Avant STAMP (Standards-Based Measurement of Proficiency) test to measure their proficiency levels in listening to, speaking, reading and writing Chinese (Mandarin), French, German or Spanish. Students can earn a Bronze Award (intermediate mid level), Silver Award (intermediate high level) or Gold Award (advanced low level).
Collectively, Flora students earned eight silver and 10 bronze awards, with student Juanita Galvis, earning double honors with awards in French and Spanish. The district extends its congratulations to these exceptional students and their world language teachers.
